The arrival of spring in Maine has brought out early blooms. I was able to get out today and capture tulips and daffodils in full bloom at Laurel Hill Cemetery in Saco. A beautiful cemetery, nestled against the Saco River, these blooms can be found throughout the grounds as well as filling the hillside leading down to the water. The scenery is, in fact, so spectacular that this location is the frequent host of wedding parties, both for ceremonies as well as photographs, senior portraits, and landscape photographers from far and wide. I find it refreshing to find so may obvious signs of life and new beginnings in an environment that is typically thought of as somber and foreboding.
